Slickrock heaven.

After Vegas Dave and I headed up to southern Utah for two days of epic riding. First ride up was the legendary Gooseberry Mesa, a slick rock heaven, natures own natural bike park overlooking Redbull rampage land.

One of the best rides of my life.

We picked up my bike at Over the Edge Bike Shop in Hurricane. Great shop. Very friendly and professional riders. I chose a Pivot Mach 5.5 small size this time for a change. After a quick coffee and refreshment stop we were ready to hit the trails.

Strike a pose.

One of the best rides of my life

Nothing can express the great feeling of cruising up and down the rollercoaster slickrocks with vistas to die for. Lots of fun but a really demanding workout as well. Dave told me about the older gentleman well into his 70s who built this trail himself ages ago. Apparently he is still out looking after the trail and still riding. Amazing. We were to bump into him later on on the Jem trails.

Endless fun on slickrocks.

Redbull Rampage Land

Gooseberry Mesa is overlooking the site of Redbull Rampage where free riders from all over the world ever year perform the most amazing stunts risking their lives. Hard to imagine any better backdrop that this.

Gooseberry Mesa is a world class trail and very well equipped. Bathrooms, maps and even a dedicated tool stand with anything a mountain biker might need to adjust his ride. You’ll find riders from all over the world with big smiles all over their faces. There are even Yurts you can stay overnight in on site.

If you love mountain biking, Gooseberry Mesa is a must on your bucket list. I highly recommend to join a group ride starting out from one of the bikeshops in the area, such as Over The Edge Bike Shop. They also have a wide variety of high-end rental bikes and will gladly help you out with any question etc you might have regarding riding in the area.
